New regulations from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development! Steel slag concrete has finally been banned!

On August 21, 2026, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development issued a notice for public solicitation of opinions on the national standard “Concrete Quality Control Standards (Revised Draft for Comments)”.

The new regulations explicitly require that steel slag should not be used as coarse aggregate! Steel slag should not be used as fine aggregate! In response to this, the editor supports with both hands that this national standard provision is of great significance for the property losses, residential safety hazards, and adverse social impacts caused by the steel slag house incident.
