On April 14th, the reporter visited the Anhui Provincial Key Laboratory of Building Seismic Disaster Reduction and Green Operation and Maintenance, and observed a unique “hardcore” competition on site – the comparative test of high ductility concrete (HDC) reinforced rural house vibration table.
The experimental results showed that in the face of severe shaking from a nine degree earthquake, the unreinforced model collapsed instantly, while the houses reinforced with HDC strips only showed minor cracks, and the main structure remained strong.
